Abstract

The right to decent and adequate housing is one of the economic, social and cultural rights recognized as universal and inalienable according to the international legal order. Currently in our country, the problem of housing remains one of the most serious problems. The poor housing conditions for the majority of Peruvians is something other than the consequence of the low economic income that is expressed as poverty. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to present an approximate picture of the right to housing in legal and social terms. Since, despite the fundamental place that this right occupies in the world legal system, the number of people who do not have adequate housing remains alarming within national statistics.
