Abstract

The evolutionary process of the notary is the same as that of the public instrument, so this article analyses the evolution of notarial archiving, taking as examples the archives of the former notaries of the College of Notaries of Lambayeque, whose aim is to perpetuate the will of the parties. Furthermore, it is proposed that, because of its legal importance, the notarial archive should be digitised, so that it can be preserved, consulted, studied and updated in an optimum manner; otherwise it will have no future as an object of reflection and research.
