The evaluation of Peru’s political, economic and social reality over the last six years reveals an extremely complex context, because it has been evaluated mainly from a political and economic perspective without taking into consideration the interrelationship between variables that have influenced a period of instability of great magnitude. An endemic problem that can be linked to this process of instability is related to the scant attention paid to urban development and national demographic planning, given that the population resides in complex geographical spaces that limit the possibility of generating positive margins of inclusion where the provision of public services has been scarce. Within this framework, a study of the evaluation and development of cities in Peru is proposed in order to understand the contemporary context of the country.
